Parking, Drop-off & Pick-up Teenie

Parents/guardians of children up to age 13 must sign children in and out at drop-off and pick-up. Parents/guardians must park their vehicles and enter the building to sign children in and out.

No child will be released without the signature of an authorized parent or guardian; ID will be requested.

Do I have to pay to park?

  • Carnegie Museums
Registration packets include a parking voucher that allows parents/guardians to use the Carnegie Museums parking facility at no charge for 60 minutes during drop-off and pick-up. Parents/guardians are invited to enjoy the museum for free while their children attend camp; regular parking rates apply beyond the 60-minute drop-off/pick-up period. For camps involving a performance or presentation on Friday, the parking voucher is extended to two hours.
  • Carnegie Mellon University
Parking for High School Workshops is available on the street or in the university parking garage; regular parking rates apply. However, parents/guardians are not required to sign high schoolers in or out, and these students may simply be dropped off and picked up with no parking required.
  • Powdermill Nature Reserve
Parking at Powdermill is always free.

Where do we drop off and pick up?

  • Carnegie Museums
Parents/guardians are required to park their vehicles and walk children to the Courtyard Entry at the rear of the museum.
  • Carnegie Mellon University
Location of class is included in confirmation packet.
  • Powdermill Nature Reserve
    Nature Center Headquarters.

Can other people drop off/pick up?

Campers ages 4–13 may only be signed in or out by persons indicated on the camper sign-out authorization form provided in your confirmation packet. On the first day of camp, ALL campers must be signed in by a person authorized on this form. With prior permission as indicated on the parent authorization form provided in the registration packet, 11–13 year olds may sign themselves in/out. Parents/guardians may also grant their 11–13 year olds this permission at the first sign-in on Monday.

Do you provide transportation or bus passes to camps?

No travel to or from camp is provided by the museums. Parents/guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up. Camps that involve field trips include transportation via chartered buses for camp activities only. There is no public transportation between Carnegie Museums and Powdermill.
