Whether you're bringing your family or coming alone, Carnegie Museum of Natural History has plenty of programs to make an already incredible visit even more enjoyable. Experience everything from exhibit tours and expert lectures to digging for fossils in Bonehunters Quarry and having hands-on interactive fun in our Discovery Room.

At the Museum
Teachers can bring their classes to Carnegie Museum of Natural History for an exciting learning adventure. Students handle museum artifacts, meet live animals, and explore our world-class exhibits as they learn about the fascinating world around us. Our programs are designed to address current Pennsylvania academic standards.

Workshops for teachers are available and count toward Act 48 hour totals.


Outreach
CMNH's education programs are also available to travel to your school. Students can enjoy programs ranging from classroom presentations to entertaining on-stage productions. Special needs students can explore many natural history and anthropology topics that are available through Museum on the Move. Teachers can borrow exhibit-related materials from the Museum that will enhance their science curriculum and their students' learning experience. A new and exciting addition to our outreach programs is the Distance Learning Program where students and teachers can interact with Museum educators and scientists through videoconferencing.

Admission: Free for Members & Children under 3, $15 for Adults,
$12 for Seniors, $11 for Children 3–18 / Students with valid ID
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m.–8 p.m.,
Sunday 12–5 p.m., closed Mondays*

*Open 10 a.m.–5 p.m.on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, and Mondays in the summer between 4th of July and Labor Day.
