The Discovery
Room reinforces classroom activities and enhances any Museum visit.
Touchable objects and exhibits make learning fun and science an
exciting adventure. Reservations may be made for 30-minute sessions.
Scheduling
Weekdays (Sept. 4, 2007–June 13, 2008), 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
One class may use the room during each 30-minute session. A maximum of 120 students can be accommodated in one day.

Required
Chaperones
One adult per five students
Fee
$1 per student when combined with a tour or class, or in addition
to Museum admission.
Discovery
Room materials include:
· Theme-based Discovery Boxes
· Inquiry-based approach to studying touchable items from
the natural world
· Microscopes
· Live invertebrate and vertebrate animals in aquariums
· Touchable vertebrate mounts and skeletons
· Touchable fossils and minerals
· A Pennsylvanian seasonal tree with animal residents
· American Indian, Ancient Egyptian, modern African, and
other cultural artifacts
An introductory
packet to the Discovery Room will be mailed two to three weeks prior
to the date of the visit.
