These engaging hour-long sessions are loaded with information about our world. Following classroom discussions and project time, parents will be given a related activity to complete with their child using the museum’s collections. Classes are grouped according to age and are offered in a variety of themes to capture your child’s interest.

Non-members: $10/child, $14/parent/child pair.

Dinomite Dinosaurs
Jan. 26
Apr. 12

Explore the world of dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures of the sea and sky! Learn more about the work of paleontologists today as they uncover the mysteries of the Mesozoic Era. This class is also available for ages 8 and up from 2:30–3:30 p.m.

The World of Mammals
Feb. 16
We will introduce you to the world of mammals—from tall to small and antelopes to zebras. Get ready to explore the habitats and diets of mammals with an adventure in The Scoop on Poop!

When the Sun Goes Down
Mar. 1
When the sun goes down and the moon and stars light up the night sky, a special group of animals creep out of hiding. In this class, you will learn more about raccoons, opossums, and other nighttime workers.

Going Buggy!
Mar. 8
Explore the fascinating world of insects! Learn about their development, unique characteristics, and behavior as you discover more about the diversity of our world’s insects.

Totem Tales
Apr. 26
Examine the objects made by Northwest Coast Indians to learn more about their lifestyles and customs. Find out what animals are depicted in their art and everyday items and how nature is used to produce many of these goods.

*Open 10 a.m.–5 p.m.on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, and Mondays in the summer between 4th of July and Labor Day.
