What was life like in ancient Egypt? At the Egypt cart visitors can find out. At the cart visitors can learn why the scarab beetle was sacred to the Egyptian people and see an Egyptian oil lamp. The artifacts on the cart show the visitors bits and pieces of ancient Egyptian life, which makes ancient Egypt come alive.

The Rosetta Stone- Below is a replica of the ancient Rosetta stone. On it there are three paragraphs all saying the same thing, but one is in Egyptian hieroglyphs, one is in Egyptian cursive called demotic, and one is in Greek. When the Rosetta stone was discovered it helped archeologists to decipher the meaning of Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Scarab Beetles - They signified rebirth to the Egyptian people because they come up out of the ground. They are all scarab beetles even though they are different colors and sizes.

Faience Scarab Beetle - This Scarab beetle is painted blue to match the color of the Nile river because the Nile signified life to the Egyptian people as they depended upon it for water.
