Super Science Saturday: Dippy's Birthday Celebration
Saturday, July 19, Noon—4 p.m.
Get out your party hat—it’s time to celebrate Dippy’s birthday! Our Diplodocus skeleton turns 115 years old this year, and we invite you to celebrate this milestone with us here at the museum. Examine 155-million-year-old rocks from the fossil bed where Dippy was unearthed and see real bones! Meet the first Carnegie scientist since 1899 to visit the location of Dippy’s discovery. The ToonSeum visits to show how dinosaurs have been portrayed in animation. Talk with our educators and learn all about Dippy and his dinosaur friends. Don’t forget to bring a homemade or bought birthday card for Dippy to receive $1 off admission! Don’t miss your chance to party with the coolest dinosaur in town!
Free with admission to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History
