In addition to building book and journal collections, the Museum Library makes online reference services available to Carnegie Museum Staff.  Please contact the Museum Librarian if there are other online services that would be of use to you.

Online Catalog of Museum Library

To check online to see if the Library owns a particular book or periodical title, search the online catalog.

CMNH Library holdings will be listed as CMNH - [name of the departmental library]. If you want to limit your search to the holdings of the CMNH Library, please select CMNH from the dropdown list "Look in the following location."

Electronic Journals

The Museum Library provides access to selected electronic journals for Museum staff and on-site visitors.

FirstSearch

The Museum Library provides access for Carnegie Museum staff to OCLC's FirstSearch, an interactive online information system which can be used to search for bibliographic citations or statistical information. Some databases available via FirstSearch include abstracts or provide the full text of material cited.

To use FirstSearch:

Call the Library staff at 622-3284 for the authorization number and assistance in searching
Go directly to FirstSearch login screen

New Acquisitions

Make recommendations for new acquisitions of both books and journal titles to better serve your research interests.  Please provide full citations, with information on author, title, publisher, date of publication and cost.
