5. Through the winter and spring of 2005, Library staff reshelved the Birds Library with the Amphibians and Reptiles Library, in order to make the eventual intershelving of these combined collections with the relocated Museum library, now referred to as the Core Library, a smoother process.

In early May 2005, the combined collections of Birds/Amphibians and Reptiles were again loaded onto book trucks and temporarily stored in the Science and Technology Department of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, which was also under renovation, while the shelves were taken down and re-assembled once again in the space previously occupied by the Molecular Lab. Happily, all these spaces were on the third floor, although not exactly contiguous.
