Historic photo of the Oakland section of Pittsburgh in which Carnegie Institute is located. On the left is the 1895 Carnegie Institute building; the twin towers were removed during the 1907 expansion. On the right is the Hotel Schenley, now the Student Union building of the University of Pittsburgh. Behind the Hotel Schenley, the Victorian glasshouse dome of Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens may be seen. In the middle background is Schenley Park.
