Minerals of the former USSR
Since the Communist Revolution of 1917, mineral specimens from the Soviet Union have rarely reached western museums. With the fall of Communism, specimens from some of the most significant ore deposits in the world have become available.
Hillman Hall displays minerals mined from Russia and other republics of the former Soviet Union previous to and during this time period. Some are unique to the classic localities of that region.
