The Katy Trail

Along the Missouri River from St. Louis to Booneville, Missouri, the Lewis and Clark Trail parallels the Katy Trail State Park, a converted railroad grade. Mississippian rocks of the Chouteau and Burlington formations exposed along these trails are world renowned for their fossil content and have been the subject of numerous scientific studies. (Lewis and Clark, 6/6/1804)
