Geology Along the Lewis & Clark Trail

Carnegie Museum Invertebrate Paleontology Collection Sites

Carboniferous Sea Floor

Scientists from the Section of Invertebrate Paleontology have been collecting the lower Mississippian limestones of the Madison Group for more than a century. Although early workers, such as former curator Percy Raymond, concentrated on the taxonomy of these fossils, recent work has concentrated on paleoecological aspects. (Clark, 8/8/1805)
