Wave-Cut Terrace

At the Pacific Ocean, Clark and his party viewed a wave-cut terrace, now the site of Cape Disappointment lighthouse (A). This vista is near the Last Station Camp (B). This elevated terrace was once at the shoreline and was notched by waves (C). Uplift has moved this terrace high above the current ocean level (D). (Clark, 1/18/1805)
