1. Who may order from the Stock Photography Archives?
This Web site is intended to serve the publishing community and fellow museums and science centers. (At the present time, we are not in a position to provide photographs to individuals). If you have any photographic/image needs for print purposes, Exhibits, multi-media and television, please feel free to contact us.

2. What reproduction rights are available for these images?
Carnegie Museum of Natural History offers non-exclusive, one-time reproduction rights for the use of their images. Prices vary depending on whether rights are for one language, world rights, cover photo or interior. Special requests will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Specifics will be agreed upon before final sale.

3. Are additional images available that are not online?
This Web site will constantly be adding new images and categories. Presently, this site offers only a small sampling of our photographic/image archives. Please contact us if you do not find a specific specimen, artifact or image that you are seeking. We are happy to provide digital thumbnail images to you to allow you to view photographs not yet on this site.

4. Are the originals transparencies, negatives or digital?
Almost all images available are originally from high-quality transparencies. Historic black and white prints may be from negatives or glass plates. We can provide either high-resolution scans or reproduction-quality duplicate transparencies, depending on your needs.

5. How do I order online?
To order photographs, please fill out the Image Information and Order Form. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History Photographer will contact you to verify photographs needed, reproduction rights required and costs. To list photograph(s) needed, please copy and paste the Photo ID number below the enlarged view of the image, placing the ID number on the Order Form in the "List Photographs" space provided. We do offer price incentives to Non-Profit organizations as long as a tax exempt number is provided.

6. What if I have additional questions?
Please feel free to contact our Museum Photographer directly. Address, phone number and email address are provided on the Contact Page.

7. What is the cost for purchasing an image?
Below is the cost schedule for the most frequently requested uses of images. Please contact us if you would like to purchase an image for a use that is not listed below. All quoted prices are for one-time reproduction rights per image.
