No child’s birthday should be ordinary! Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s birthday parties will indulge your child’s craving for all things dinosaur for his or her special day.

Birthday Parties treat your special birthday child and guests to an interactive dinosaur talk led by a museum educator, a guided tour of Dinosaurs in Their Time, a dino-mite fossil casting activity, dino games, and more. Each guest will also go home with a special dinosaur party hat, cup, and coloring book to keep the fun evolving.

Parties include cake or cupcakes, ice cream cups, juice boxes, and supplies for up to 24 guests. Pizza is available for an additional charge. Parties are recommended for children ages 4 and up.

Scheduling
Select weekend dates are available, with parties starting at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m., or 1:30 p.m. Parties last 2½ hours and include museum admission. To make a reservation, contact Group Visits at 412.622.3289 or GroupVisits@carnegiemuseums.org.

Guests will enter the museum from the parking lot through the Center for Museum Education portal entry, where your museum guide will meet and greet your group. This guide will stay with the party and assist for the 2½ hours of activities.

To begin the party, your group will spend up to one hour in our special dinosaur classroom, where they will take part in the dinosaur activities lead by museum staff. Your guide will bring the group up to tour Dinosaurs in Their Time. Your guide will then escort your group to their own party room for cake, ice cream, and cookie decorating. At the conclusion of the party, up to 24 guests will be given admission tags and are free to explore the rest of the museum until it closes at 5 p.m.

Ages 4-5: Minimum of 4 chaperones required.
Ages 6 and up: Minimum of 2 chaperones required

Fee
Members: $400
Non-Members: $500
Parties include a variety of dinosaur activities and supplies for up to 24 guests. Payment in full is required at time of registration. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.

Refund Policy
In case of emergency, parties can be rescheduled at a later available date. In case of a cancellation, $100 of payment is non-refundable.

Parking and Directions
A parking pass will be sent along with a confirmation letter to the contact person for the party. Adults who are dropping off children for the party and then directly leaving should tell the parking attendant the name of the birthday party they are attending, and there will be no parking fee. They should also make pick-up arrangements with the contact person for the party, as museum staff are not responsible for supervising children after the party concludes. Adults who are parking and staying for the party, visiting the museums, or going to the library during the party will need to pay the $5 parking fee for the day.

Refreshments and party supplies include:
• Cake choice: One 13x9 inch white cake or 24 white cupcakes. Both sheet cake and cup cakes have dinosaur decorations.
• Optional: Cheese pizza (eight slices), $12 additional charge per pizza. Pizzas must be ordered at the time the party reservation is made.
