Experience the thrill of hands-on excavation in our interactive fossil dig! Be transported to Dinosaur National Monument in Utah, where Carnegie paleontologists unearthed some of the most famous specimens in Dinosaurs in Their Time. After being issued protective goggles, a chisel, and brush, chip away at rock matrix to reveal realistic fossil casts buried below. Try your hand at being a paleontologist—you, too, can help excavate a dinosaur or mammal!
$2 per student as an add-on to any Carnegie Museum of Natural History program
Available for grades 2–12
In addition to your scheduled program, each student receives a pencil and Museum Quest—an observation workbook containing activities that guide exploration of specific exhibits and practice 21st-century critical thinking skills.
