Q & A

Q: How did you first meet Spiny?
A: I met Spiny when I came to interview to work with her. I didn’t know what to expect going in to the interview—I was so nervous! But we hit it off right away and she decided to add me to her team. Now, we’re like family and I couldn’t be happier!

Q: What's your favorite thing about working with Spiny?
A: Working with Spiny is a new adventure every day. There’s always something new to learn! Plus, she loves to play games, so it doesn’t even feel like work.

Q: Name a time when Spiny surprised/pulled a prank/scared you?
A: Why do so many of our stories have to do with Spiny playing hide and seek? One day, we were playing a quick game in the museum. It was her turn to hide and somehow she fit herself into the Stratavator in the Benedum Hall of Geology—which is a tight squeeze for someone her size. She doesn’t do well with simulators, so she got super dizzy and stumbled all over the place when she came out. I only found her because she was making so much noise.

Q: Has Spiny ever eaten your lunch?
A: I saw how Spiny was always stealing other people’s lunches, so I just started packing an extra one. We both love fish, so it’s easy to make sure we’re both happy!

Q: Do you have any other dino friends?
A: Right now, Spiny is as much dinosaur friend as I can handle. But I’m sure she’ll introduce me to some cool dinos in the future.

Q: What is your favorite exhibit at the museum?
A: I really like the new Animal Secrets exhibit. It’s full of cool interactive habitats and fun activities for families to enjoy together. And Spiny likes going up there with me because there’s so many fish in the exhibit.
